MST served as the technology partner in a trial of Volna, a new contactless payment solution developed by the National Payment Card System (NSPK). The system uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to let shoppers pay with their smartphones—no physical card or NFC required—on both Android and iOS devices.
The pilot ran in May 2025 at several retail locations across Moscow. JoinPOS software was installed on payment terminals from two partner banks: VTB and Sinara Bank. The test evaluated Volna’s technical performance and overall ease of use for customers.
NSPK praised MCT’s role in making the pilot a success. The two companies also agreed to keep working together on future payment innovations.

The National Payment Card System (NSPK JSC) recently conducted a pilot test of its new payment technology, Volna which utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This solution enables smartphone users (Android and iOS) to make contactless payments seamlessly, similar to existing tap-to-pay methods.
The Volna pilot took place from April to May 2025 on payment terminals provided by VTB and Sinara Bank across multiple retail locations in Moscow. The trial evaluated the technology’s reliability and overall customer experience.
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of MST Company’s leadership and team in providing prompt technical support for Volna within your proprietary software, as well as your assistance throughout the pilot project.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration in advancing innovative payment technologies.
Respectfully,
Dmitry G. Dubynin
